Against Me! started out in Gainesville, Florida way back in 1997. Since that time much has changed in terms of band members. Most striking of all changes has to be lead singer Laura Jane Grace’s transition in dealing with gender dysphoria and acceptance. Now on the brink of the release of the band’s sixth album Transgender Dysphoria Blues on January 21st, 2014, we get a taste of what the album will be like. Lyrically dealing with gender dyshporia, loss of loved ones, and self discovery, the album won’t be a traditional blues album. “FUCKMYLIFE666″ carries that garage band, pop punk feel to it with the lyrical angst of grunge rock and subtle discomfort of not being understood and accepted. Let the head bobbing and foot tapping begin.
