It’s hard to cover an iconic song like “Don’t You (Forget About Me).” The mere utterance of “hey hey hey” can bring you right back to the end of the Breakfast Club. Anna Volpe cuts out the “hey hey hey” and alters the mood of the track so drastically on her cover, that you almost don’t think about Judd Nelson’s fist in the air. Volpe’s cover is an industrial dirge with moody synths and slightly distorted vocals. It really brings out the emotion in the lyrics in a different way to the original.
