Johnny Cash‘ classic, “Fulsom Prison Blues” traded in its steady country guitar for synth arpeggios. Cash turned in his distinctive bass country twang for a British baritone. At least that’s the world we see in Black Strobe‘s cover of the track. Amazingly enough, it works incredibly well. The track sounds a bit more dour but at the same time it sounds like something Cash, who was working with Trent Reznor at the end of his days, could have gotten behind.
