Los Angeles duo, Carousel generally gets compared to M83 because of their vast synth sounds and 80s influence. While those elements are still present in their latest track, “Close My Eyes,” there is something a little different about it. The track ups the poppiness from previous efforts making it sound closer to mainstream synth pop like Owl City. It is not a completely unexpected turn for the group but it is definitely different.
