Brother-sister duo, Cattle & Cane are preparing to release their new album, Navigator on November 8th. The track mixes elements of California desert rock with folk and alt-country. The result is a song that is incredibly catchy and very ambitious. Joe Hammill explains “We tried to capture a feeling of going beyond redemption with this song. It’s about a man who has lived his life, made mistakes, hurt people – including himself – and is essentially telling the people around him, ‘you don’t want to come near me – I’m bad news.'” He adds “We’ve used Helen’s voice as a counterweight to the man’s pessimism and weariness. She’s more open to redemption.” You can decide whether the man can be redeemed or if it is doomed optimism.
