It’s hard not to get completely swept away by the luscious soundscape of Charity‘s dreamy new track “Metal Boy.” Her voice is like a paint brush, carefully filling up the space with a soothing subtlety. The overall vibe is reminiscent of an 80’s/90’s new wave/R&B hybrid (think Human League‘s “Human”) but the driving, mechanical synth in the verses recalls the vibe of Drive soundtrack (think Desire “Under Your Spell”). It’s a wonderful, hypnotic mix that’s easily worked it’s way into rotation on my computer and in my head.
