Chicago four-piece, Commonweather are preparing to release their new EP, Sugar Sun on September 13th. The EP’s latest single is “Mellow Drama,” a song that sounds like it could have been on Brand New‘s Your Favorite Weapon. The song “examines setting healthy boundaries in a relationship,” said the band, “and how miscommunications can leave partners isolated and emotionally exhausted.” With its perfect mix of pop punk and emo influences, “Mellow Drama” could have easily been my anthem in 2002.
