Dr. Dog‘s Eric Slick just released a new single with Speedy Ortiz guitarist Sadie Dupuis called “Secrets”. At first listen you may question what it is that you’re listening to. I know I did. With all of the noisy dissonance, crunchy guitar and distorted vocals, it becomes a bit washed out. The straightforward and repetitive beat is what keeps you on track with the roadmap of the song. On the flipside, it is an artistic approach to the aggressive and hateful world that we live in today. A very admirable topic to write a song about. You can hear the passion of Eric’s political stance against President Trump’s actions in the well thought out lyrics. If you’re feeling the heat of what’s going on in the world today, take a listen to “Secrets”. It just might help release some of your aggressions.
