Helsinki band, Grandmother Corn are preparing to release their new album, Don’t Look Back in January. Surviving the Golden Age is excited to premiere the album’s latest single, “Snowball Season.”
Beginning with fuzzed out bass, the track is propelled by noisy guitars and driving drums. Lead singer, Teo Hirvonen’s voice is not necessarily what you expect to hear over the garage rock instrumental; it has a similar tenor to Peter Noone’s from Herman’s Hermit. With the winter-themed lyrics, the retro pop voice works and makes “Snowball Season” a great December listen.
