Man, Jerry Folk does it again. Since the start of the new year, he’s been on an absolute tear with single after single and “I’m Honestly Not A Gangster” leaves little to be desired. I’m about 10 listens in and the vocals continue to grow on me listen after listen, actually scratch that I’m not even sure if this is a vocal or a sample, but either way it’s got a delicate quality to it that I can’t help but appreciate. Quirky lyrics aside, Jerry Folk’s production is absolutely up to par with shimmery bursts of synths to match the snazzy melodies and delicate drum kicks.
