Los Angeles based producer, Koresma is preparing to release his new EP, North. The first single from the album is “Free.” Dreamy guitars and synth arpeggios are laid over a shuffling deep house beat. Ambient reverb-drenched vocals are provided by Alaska Reid which work more as an additional instrument than a focal point. Koresma said the song was inspired by his grandfather’s tales of growing up in the Faroe Islands. “He told me stories about the vast openness, sheer cliffs, and moody weather and it has heavily influenced the sonic landscape,” said Koresma. “Free” perfectly encapsulates the windy, wet, cloudy, and cool North Atlantic archipelago.
