Oregon-born, North Carolina-raised singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist, Jon Lindsay is preparing to release his sophomore LP Summer Wilderness Program in June. The album’s first single is “Vapors.” The track is an indie pop tune that sounds like a mix of Death Cab for Cutie and Matthew Sweet.

New: Lightouts covers The Cure “Push”
Brooklyn’s Lightout are preparing to release their new single, “The Big Picture.” As with their previous singles, the b-side is going to be a cover. This time the band takes on the Cure‘s classic “Push.” The first half of the song is completely instrumental but when the vocals do kick in, they remind of At the Drive In spinoff, Sparta.

New: Revolution, I Love You “Cotton Shirts”
Revolution, I Love You set sail on their east coast tour yesterday. To celebrate they dropped this new single, “Cotton Shirts.” The track is a drone-y, slow jam built off of 808s, snap samples and a single-note piano melody.
New: ZHU remix Pink Floyd “Shine On You Crazy Diamond”
Los Angeles-based EDM-producer, ZHU just sent me his latest remix, a take on Pink Floyd‘s “Shine On You Crazy Diamond.” I like that this is not another remix of “Call Me Maybe” or “Somebody That I Used to Know” but “Shine on You Crazy Diamond” is even a little obscure for me. Besides a small section in the middle, it is hard to tell this is even a remix. Still the glitchy, almost-dubstep sound of the remix is pretty solid.
New: Lyriciss “Get It & Go (Illastrate Remix)”
DJ J-Scrilla just dropped his new mixtape, Capitol Punishment Vol. 2 over on DatPiff. Coming from that mixtape, is Lyriciss new track “Get It & Go,0″ the Illastrate remix. The track reminds me of old school Little Brother.
New: Jen Schande “Nice Fez”
Who doesn’t love a good fez? Of course in modern culture, people mostly associate fezzes with Shriners and Aladdin’s monkey but there was a time when fezzes were associated with royalty. Jen Schande is trying to single-handedly bring back the fez with her new single, “Nice Fez” from the upcoming album, 19: Songs for and Inspired by Valencia Chapter 19. The album will be available on July 17th but the single is ready for download right now. Enjoy Schande’s energetic power pop grooves!
