Pat Lok is back! My fellow Canuck (albeit a Vancouverite) is known for his great funky sound and he doesn’t disappoint his fans here with “My Own Throne”. Guest vocalist Claire Mortifee has the perfect kind of 70s disco voice while Pat crushes production as usual courtesy of some unusual synths and off-beat kicks. From start to finish there’s this whimsical air to this song which is probably super hard to replicate which fits in perfectly with the playful sound that Pat Lok has developed for himself. “My Own Throne” is the lead single from Pat Lok’s upcoming same-named EP so be sure to keep your ears to the ground for news on that!
