A song that just oozes delicate beauty, the combination of Pluto‘s bouncy, playful production and Nevve‘s gorgeous vocals add up to something truly special with “Surface.” Pluto’s soundscape is powerful, but doesn’t take up too much space. It allows Nevve to effortlessly float from chorus to chorus like a sailboat on perfect waters. Once in the chorus, the interplay between her “to the surface” lyric and the pitched down version of the lyric is fantastic, adding to the dreamlike, almost fairytale quality to the song. An entirely refreshing, satisfying listen.
