Since we last saw Potty Mouth, the group has lost guitarist Phoebe. Without a replacement, the Massachusetts band is down to a three piece. On their first single as a trio, “Cherry Picking”, the instrumental still sounds as full as ever; it is however, everything else about the song that is different. The band’s debut full length, Hell Bent was filled with punk anthems as seen through lead singer Abby Weems monotone vocals. “Cherry Picking” is less punk and more 90s alternative–gone are the monotone vocals of old replaced with Weems even hitting some high note. The change in style might be a bit jarring to Potty Mouth longtime supporters.
