Exclusive Premier: The Purrs “The Promises We Made”

Seattle psych-rock outfit, The Purrs are releasing their seventh full-length, The Boy With Astronaut Eyes today. Surviving the Golden Age has the privilege of premiering the album’s latest music video for the song, “The Promises We Made.” The track sounds like it could be from the soundtrack of an action movie with its driving drums and steady bass. The video switches between two main images: video of the band playing the song on stage and video of streetlights as the camera drives under them. Mixed in are random clips of people coming out of a subway tunnel and a dead rat with flies circling it. None of the images in the song seem to connect with the general themes of the song but that doesn’t make it a boring watch.
