Philly rapper, Rich Quick seems like a master of irony. He takes the beat from the Butthole Surfers‘ most popular song, “Pepper” and flips it into a track called “Salt.” Get it? He does keep a fair amount of the same lyrics as the original but he changes a bunch of them around to make them about drugs. For example he takes “They were all in love dying they were doin’ it in Texas” and changes it to “we all in love with smokin so we tokin in the basement.” Not exactly poetry but interesting to hear the 90s classic reimagined.
