I have noticed EDM trends generally go from new and original to lowest common denominator remixes before disappearing forever (look at moombahton). Before the lowest common denominator remixes, there is a period where fairly credible DJs start remixing 90s tracks in said style. That is essentially where trap music is at. Aylen‘s remix of Snap!‘s “Rhythm is a Dancer” is case in point. It is a solid trap remix but a solid DJ but next week people will be making trap remixes of the Kidz Bop version of Carly Rae Jepsen‘s new single and the whole fad will be over.
