If you were to vote on a band least likely to be remixed, Tera Melos might be towards the top of the list. The technically gift math rock band seems to have too many variables in their music to make a truly good remix. But the band has no fear, thus on October 8th they will release X’ed Out (Remixes EP). The first leak from the album is Fang Island‘s remix of “Weird Circles.” The pairing makes sense as Fang Island has a similar bombastic math rock sound but the remix actually sounds little like either band. Fang Island takes ambient vocals and combines it with standard 4/4 timed live instruments to create a subdued track that is barely recognizable as Tera Melos.
