Every year I am amazed by the amount of Christmas songs put out by bands. This year I was more amazed at how many bands put out Christmas songs and albums before Thanksgiving. Here are the top ten songs toiling away in my inbox, some of them for months.
10. Sheléa “Don’t Wanna Wait Till Christmas”
Obviously Vocalist Sheléa did not wanna wait till Christmas, she released her original track on November 20th–two days before Thanksgiving.

09. Jaybizz LeFresh “Gucci Christmas”
Canadian club producer, Jaybizz LeFresh dropped “Gucci Christmas” at the beginning of December. It truly might be the most annoying Christmas song I have ever heard.

08. You’re A Liar “XXXMas”
For the third year in a row, Flannelgraph Records has released an exorbitantly long Christmas album called The Holidays Don’t Have To Be So Rotten. the 34-track album features largely instrumental Christmas tunes like You’re A Liar‘s “XXXMas.” You can grab the entire album here.
07. Tom Rosenthal “Christmas Quiet”
British singer/songwriter, Tom Rosenthal waited until December 1st before he dropped “Christmas Quiet,” a seasonal acoustic ballad.
06. Susy Sun and Miles Ralston “White Christmas”
Released the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, Susy Sun and Miles Ralston‘s Joyeux EP features three Christmas classics including this take on “White Christmas.” Susy Sun has a pretty awesome voice (reminiscent of Zooey Deschanel) and the track features some swanky vintage electric piano.

05. Kishi Bashi “It’s Christmas But It’s Not White Here In Our Town”
Today, Kishi Bashi released a limited edition Holiday Flexi Disc of the holiday tune, “It’s Christmas But It’s Not White Here In Our Town.” WTF is a Flexi Disc? Essentially it’s a paper thin vinyl record.

04. Starlings, TN “The Holidaze”
Three days before Thanksgiving Starlings, TN released his dark Christmas tune, “The Holidaze.”

03. The Hush Now “I’m Always Broke in December”
The Hush Now released their original Holiday tune, “I’m Always Broke in December” a full week before Thanksgiving.
02. Foxtails Brigade “I’m Not Really In The Christmas Mood”
If you’re not in a Christmas mood, Foxtails Brigade then why did you record a Christmas song? You released the song the week after Thanksgiving which means you probably recorded it in October at the latest. You think maybe that’s why you weren’t in the Christmas mood?

God love Dragonette, but they started streaming their original Christmas track “Merry Xmas (Says Your Text Message)” on November 12th–a full ten days before Thanksgiving.
