#TuesdayTop10: Record Store Day 2013

record store day, 2013
This year’s Record Store Day will happen this Saturday, April 20th. The entire list of exclusive releases is massive (view it here), so we’ve compiled the top 10 releases we are looking forward to.

10. A Place To Bury Strangers: Strange Moon
New York noise rockers, A Place To Bury Strangers have never made carbon copy covers and has always made each song their own. I imagine the same will happen with their Strange Moon 12″. The vinyl contains seven Dead Moon covers.

09. Titus Andronicus: Record Store Day
New Jersey punks, Titus Andronicus release an exclusive 12″. The vinyl contains album track, “Still Life with Hot Duce and Silver Platter” backed with two unreleased tracks: “(I’ve Got A) Date Tonight” and “The Dog.”

08. At The Drive-In: Relationship of Command Re-issue
In a sea of re-issues released on this RSD, At The Drive-In‘s Relationship of Command stands out not only because of its hollowed place amongst indie fans’ hearts but because of the two exclusive bonus tracks included on the 12″ vinyl.

07. The Thermals: Desperate Ground Demos
Releasing their Saddle Creek debut Desperate Ground today, the Thermals will release a four song 7″ EP of demos recorded in preparation of the album. The 7″ is limited to 1000 copies.

06. Superchunk: Void 7″
North Carolina indie rock legends, Superchunk release a new 7″. Both tracks on the vinyl, “Void” and “Faith,” are exclusive for Record Store Day.

05. Owen: The Seaside EP
Released exclusively for RSD, Owen‘s Seaside EP collects six songs previously only available as bonus tracks on Japanese album releases, plus one song previously only available on a 7”.

04. Dan Deacon: Konono Ripoff No 1 7″
Electronic experimenter, Dan Deacon will release his Konono Ripoff No 1 7″ on RSD. The 7″ is limited to 500 copies and are housed in a hand numbered jacket.

03. Best Coast: Fear Of My Identity 7″
A collaboration between Record Store Day, Clarks Originals and Best Coast, the Fear Of My Identity 7″ features two never-before-released new tracks.

02. The Hold Steady: Criminal Fingers 7″
Besides the gorgeous artwork, The Hold Steady‘s Criminal Fingers 7″ features two unreleased tracks: “Criminal Fingers” b/w “The Bear & the Maiden Fair.”

01. GZA: Liquid Swords Chess Box
In a year of re-issuing madness, GZA‘s reissue of his Liquid Swords album stands out. Packaged in a 12×12 box that doubles as a chess set, the vinyl is a collector’s dream.
