If you can imagine the Stranger Things Season 1 soundtrack being remixed by Goldie, you have something close to Varsity Star‘s new single “Sneakers.” The New York-based multi-instrumentalist said “I worked on this track on and off for about a year – it started with a guitar demo, turned into a psychedelic synth track, and then got shelved for a while when I felt I couldn’t handle all the sounds that were piling up. I came back to it near the end of making my album with a fresh set of ears and turned it into something dirty and sloppy but also upbeat and stylish – like your favourite pair of sneakers.”
