Yellow Ostrich “Shades” and “Any Wonder”

by Andrew Garrison

Yellow Ostrich is a New York via Wisconsin group that has been making music for the last few years and is releasing its second full album, Cosmos on February 25th. The first single off of their album is “Shades” which has blazing hot, downright awesome guitar bits that power this track in every which way imaginable. With a very exploratory type of openness to it, the feeling of “Shades” matches the title of the album, borrowed from Carl Sagan’s PBS series.  What is slated to be the second single and our second taste of the forthcoming album is a track called “Any Wonder” that was placed on soundcloud this week, has more of a prominent drum line, but a similar airiness to it. Both tracks are equally engaging and promising that makes February 25th a day I have circled on my calendar.
