Sinéad O’Connor‘s “Nothing Compares 2 U” is somewhat of a pop milestone. It seems every young female singer that comes out wants to tackle the song with their own particular style. Such is the case for Montreal’s A K U A. Her cover of “Nothing Compares 2 U” just barely changes the original but the addition of a sparse but slightly off kilter drum line gives the track a little something extra. Is it better than the original? Hell no but its an interesting enough listen.
