When you hear the band name The Adventures of Silver Spaceman, there are certain expectations. One expects something goofy, something flamboyant, something alien. Those would be the last words to use to describe Zachary James Ellis, the multi-instrumentalist & singer-songwriter known as the Silver Spaceman. The first single from the band’s upcoming Sun Songs, “Zierra” is a raw singer/songwriter track reminiscent of M. Ward. “Zierra” features Zach Ellis on rhythm guitar/vocals, Dave Susman on lead guitar, Nathan Oglesby, Chris Abbadessa on slide guitar, Sam Yield on bass, Ryan Martin on drums, and Kenny Wang of The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and TV on the Radio on viola. Surviving the Golden Age is pleased to premiere the track.
