Michigan musician, Jon-Paul Bakaric was the guitarist/vocalist of such bands as The Boys of Summer and That Was Something. His new project, Bakaric has a new EP The Reign Of The New Me Pt. 1 will be released on November 4th. Surviving the Golden Age is pleased to premiere the album’s first single, “Surrender.” Having absolutely nothing to do with the Cheap Trick classic, the mid-tempo ballad features electric drums, echoed guitar, and reverbed vocals to give the track a vast feel. Vocally the track reminds me of 90s alt-bands like Silverchair but musically is somewhere between The Horrors and Coldplay. “Surrender” has all the potential to be a top 40 song.
