Taking on a song as insanely popular as Birdy‘s 2012 breakthrough “Skinny Love” is perhaps a fool’s errand. The track, which has amassed over 10 million listens on SoundCloud is arguably perfect as is – its simplicity and clean tone have obviously landed well for listeners. Swiss producer Sebastian Carter was approached by Birdy herself to remix “Skinny Love” and he certainly rose to the challenge. The result is a gently textured journey that respects the original’s purity while updating it for a post-Toro y Moi audience.
