Four years after a traumatic brain injury caused by a car accident put her life on hold, Charly Haze just released her EP, Getaway Car. The EP’s titular track is the latest single. While I’m not sure you could pay me to sing about cars after a life-threatening accident, Haze creates a dreamy synth-pop track taking her trauma and putting it in universal terms. She sings “I’m trying to move on” with such passion that everyone can relate to that sense of yearning to get past an experience.
