Cyberattack “Fantasy Killer”

NYC’s Cyberattack are preparing to release their debut full length album, Hard Feelings in early 2020. Their latest single is “Fantasy Killer.” Mixing elements of glitch, pop, and rock, the track sounds somewhere between La Roux‘s “Bulletproof” and Danse Macabre-era The Faint. Singer/songwriter, Ivan Anderson describes the track as “the total, mind-destroying yearnings of middle school and being obsessed with wondering if the people you have crushes on ever think about you the same way.” He continues “the song uses a bunch of glitchy sounds and an overall Sega Genesis production style because I have this larger idea that adolescence itself is a glitch—-like your whole identity starts to freak out and do weird new things.”
