It has been 8 years since the mashup boom created by Jay-Z releasing the acapellas for his Black Album. Still all this time later, people are still coming out with mashups of Black Album tracks, like Dave Edwards who just dropped “99 Shades of Funk.” The track gives “99 Problems” a french house makeover. While the acapella does not always match up because of Jay-Z’s occasionally beat bending flow, the dissonance is minimal.
