After announcing a North American Tour in 2024, and Imminence only touching northern US states and Canada, Florida waited patiently, and a year later was finally rewarded with the Return Of The Black Tour. The Swedish Metalcore played to a sold out House Of Blues crowd in Orlando, with support from Japanese Metalcore band Julika and French Metalcore band LANDMVRKS.

Starting off the night was Julika, an eclectic Japanese metalcore band that brought you to a crazy intersection of music featuring: rap verses, edm beats, pig squeals, and even gator gutturals. Their set began with an instrumental walk out, each member taking center stage to be welcomed by the crowd. Dressed to impress, the members adorned different outfits featuring red lights and lots of leather. The band was so interactive during their set, getting the crowd to jump along with them multiple times. With this being fans’ first time in FL to see the band, their fans went all out dressing to the nines for the band. Julika’s energy poured into the crowd and prepared them for a wild night to come.

French Metalcore band LANDMVRKS was next, lead Florent Salfati taking the stage solo to start off the night, performing his epic rap verse from their song Creature to start off the night. I’ll be honest, it was very very hard for me to stay stagnant in the pit, but believe me I was singing along the whole time. LANDMVRKS brings a stage presence that is like no other, the French men bolstering spin kicks, two-steps, and jumps from risers. But it was when their song Death began, is where the real party started, Florent calling out to the crowd to come to the stage, in the form of a surge of crowd surfers. You could say, we were getting lost in a wave. Crowdsurfers screaming the lyrics at the band as they came over the barricade, oh and did I mention the mosh pit was almost the size of the whole floor? Their ten song setlist left the room shaking and fans begging for an encore. Hopefully we will see them back in Florida again soon!

Tell me something about Paradise…

I can, and it’s an Imminence concert. Eddie Berg and members know how to take you out of your head and into the world they have created: The Black. A beautifully crafted world, for about one-hundred-twenty minutes, you experience heartbreaking ballads, deafening screams, and ethereal violins alongside violent guitars. Their twenty song setlist flowed beautifully, taking the majority of fans who again, were seeing them for the first time in FL, from the inception of the band to now. Interludes between songs featured Eddie’s signature violin, playing off until the lights faded to black. The crowd was treated to an acoustic cover of Alleviate which broke into the full band joining in. If you take away anything from an Imminence show, I believe it’s one of two things: one, how insanely talented you must be to not only be able to scream and play the violin at the same time, and two that it is a rare feeling to find a band that can create and encapsulate you a world all their own just for a night. Thank you Imminence for giving Florida their chance, and I hope we get another one soon.
