Portland, ME’s Kidhimself is starting of 2020 with his new single, “Hooked on You.” Surviving the Golden Age is excited to premiere the track.
“I wanted to write a song that was fun, light hearted, but also just a touch dark and twisted,” said Kidhimself. “At first listen you might think this song is simply about someone getting high, but it really isn’t about that at all. It is a story about losing control and giving in to your emotions.”
It is easy to let loose while listening to the song. With a hand-clapped beat and ear-worm chorus, the track feels sounds like Pete Yorn covering Death Cab for Cutie‘s “Sound of Settling.”. Its poppy and danceable while still being a little dark.
