Austin, TX’s Letting Up Despite Great Faults are preparing to release their new album, Reveries on October 11th. The first single from the album is “Powder.” While much of the band’s work has been in the shoegaze realm, “Powder” leans into glitch pop. The band’s Mike Lee explains “I wanted to create a song that included percussive elements that were exciting to me at the time: a complex mix of drum layers that sometimes had a semi unsyncopated rhythm, drum ‘n’ bass samples, and a classic club thump.” In addition, Lee cedes lead vocal duties to keyboardist/guitarist Annah Fisette. Her vocals lilt over the complex beats and layers of guitars and synths.
