Seattle duo, The Local Strangers are preparing to release their new album, When We Were Honest on June 28th. Surviving the Golden Age is excited to premiere their new single, “Not Missing.”

Although the band describes themselves as “Soulful Americana,” “Not Missing” is filled with hard rock guitar riffs and male/female harmonies that bring down the house–think Led Zeppelin and Heart doing an all-star jam. Just because the song is rocking doesn’t mean it doesn’t have any Americana flare; the use of fiddle and slide guitar give “Not Missing” a little country twang.

Discussing the track, singer Aubrey Zoli said “‘Not Missing’ is an empowering song about moving on from something toxic, yet is also about getting stuck in doubt and confusion. It’s swampy and off-kilter, unsure of which way is up, which way is out, and which feelings are the most real.” Despite all the confusion, “Not Missing” is clearly a focus track of When We Were Honest.
