Salt Lake City’s The Mellons just released their new single, “Please Baby Please” via Earth Libraries. Lead vocalist, Andrew Beck, said ” I’d say this song is a touch more rock and roll than much of our previous work” which feels like an understatement. Much of the band’s baroque-pop charm is switched out for grittier drums and noisier production. Still, the band’s hallmark vocal harmonies and tight guitar arpeggios let you know they are still the same Mellons you’ve come to love.
