Cleveland husband/wife duo Mr. Gnome are preparing to release their new album, A Sliver of Space on September 27th. The latest single from the album is “Mind’s Gone.” Mixing a hand-clapped and tambourine beat with airy piano stabs, the track has an epic feel reminiscent of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs “Spitting Off the Edge of the World.” The band said the track “was written at the height of one of the darkest moments in our lives. I was really struggling from the loss of two very special people in our lives, and it was all really fucking with my head and leaving me feeling like I had lost a part of myself that I wasn’t sure I could ever get back. During this time, I was doing a lot of solo writing sessions, and this song popped into my head out of nowhere – the full song, full melodies, lyrics and music. It was as if something else was writing this song through me, like my antenna was tuned into the right frequency at the right moment.”
