Compson Sound sent me his new mashup, “A Deeper Crush on Toulouse.” He described the track as “different than my previous mashups,” which worried me a little because he has been one of my favorite mashup artists as of late. Although the track is a bit harder hitting than his previous tracks, the esoteric use of Aretha Franklin keeps my attention even if the background instrumental offers little over standard mashup selection.
