Junk Culture is Oxford Mississippi native Deepak Mantena. Mantena seems to be poised to blow up in 2011 as he has just been tapped to open for Girl Talk on his upcoming, largely sold out tour. In addition, Junk Culture is preparing to release his Summer Friends EP on Illegal Arts next month. “Weird Teenage Vibes” is one of two songs currently being leaked from the EP. The track is a dreamy/experimental ditty that sounds like something between Beach House and Animal Collective; sounds like everything Pitchfork loves in the world. Check it out.
