New York City based artist, Nick Catoire is preparing to release his new single, “Empty Love” on July 2nd. Surviving the Golden Age is excited to premiere the track.
Nick Catoire says “I was struggling with the highs and lows of rebounding as a queer person. I hit the apps hard. So many one night stands. SO many hookups. But I couldn’t find what I was really looking for.”
While Catoire’s emotive voice evokes melancholy and regret, the song musically remains upbeat. With lush synth pads and a hip hop-inspired dance beat, glitchy production gives little easter eggs like the sound of Mario getting a coin along with other little surprises. It gives the track a fun and playful vibe to juxtapose the lyrics.
