Newcastle’s alternative rock band, The Old Pink House, put a track out in the world for us called “Neck Deep”. At first listen, it sounds like your typical alt rock tune with heavy guitar riffs, an energetic kit, and fuzzy vocals. What may surprise you in the middle of the song is a sudden breakdown after the bridge that has an uplifting chord progression that morphs into a guitar solo. There aren’t many lyrics, but the point of constantly wondering if something is being hid from you by a love interest is portrayed well through minimal words. “Neck Deep” has an extremely catchy melody and a relatable message.
