UK songstress, Mary Epworth has been making significant waves across the pond with high praise from the BBC and Q Magazine. Epworth tries to bring those waves stateside with her newly announced 36-date US tour and the release of her album, Dream Life. Surviving the Golden Age is pleased to premiere Dream Life‘s standout track “Black Doe.” Beginning simply with just Mary Epworth’s vocal and banjo, “Black Doe” feels like an unassuming funeral dirge for the first minute until flips from slow burner to Black Sabbath-esque stoner rock quickly. Although the folk tinge of the first minute is not gone completely; fiddles, bells and whistles (literally) come in and out of the mix as the rock onslaught pummels the listener. Brace yourself before you listen.
