Pretty Embers “Inside”

Birmingham-formed, Nashville-based Pretty Embers are preparing to release their new album, Under on October 29th. The latest single from the album is “Inside.” Frontman, Kameron Mitchell explained “I wrote the original guitar idea in my mom’s basement the day that I impulsively bought a new guitar.” The loopy guitar part Mitchell references sounds like classic Photo Album-era Death Cab for Cutie or first album American Football. While the late-90s/early-00s emo vibe is strong early on, the music continues to build into a wall-of-sound evoking bands like Explosions in the Sky or Godspeed You! Black Emperor. It makes for a loud but spectacular ending to a beautiful song.
