When Steve Albini passed away in May, you may have wondered “what was he working on?” The answer is Raised on Candy‘s self-titled debut album. The album is one of the (if not thee) last thing Steve Albini recorded. The album’s single “Lonely Bill,” features all the hallmarks of an Albini recording: a live full-band sound with plenty of ambiance. Joe Penna’s guitar arpeggios are crisp and bouncy while Scotty Imp’s drums sound like you are in the room with them.
