Vermont producer Rico James teams up with rapper Rhinoceros Funk for the new single, “Pump This.” The instrumental sounds like a boom bap version of a horror movie soundtrack. The vocals have a tinny echoed quality which adds to the uneasy feeling. My only complaint would be that the vocal effects may take away from Funk’s powerful sociopolitical lyrics but mybe that is just an another reason to pump the single louder.
