Portland emcee, Serge Severe just dropped his new track, “The Vigil.” Produced by Maze Rockwell, the soul-sampling boom bap beat is reminiscent of UGK‘s “International Players Anthem (I Choose You)” or Jay Electronica‘s “Exhibit C.” For his part, Serge Severe delivers a stead flow filled with word play. Although some lines like “the plot thickens like when the syrup pours” is a little ham handed, the track still seems worth more than a free download.
