To call Oregon’s Silvertron Youth Choir‘s new album, Our God is a Possum God bizarre would be an understatement. Helmed by prolific solo artist Thomas Mudrick, Silvertron Youth Choir is a mixture of bad acid trip, children’s troubadour, and backwater hoedown. Beginning with “Spaceship Sunlight,” a electro-tinged hip hop track, the album quickly flips styles with the banjo-filled “Whiskey Pie.” “Pet the Little Birds” plays out like the Flaming Lips doing a children’s song.
