Frontman for rap/jazz group Butcher Brown, Tennishu is preparing to release his new solo album, Three Sides on November 19th. The latest single from the album is “Ngoni.” A ngoni is a traditional instrument in Mali, somewhere between a guitar and banjo; the track’s beat heavily features the instrument. While the ngoni adds a unique sound, the highlight of the track is Tennishu’s rapping. His first verse takes a straight forward approach to the beat while the second switches up the flow and uses more in-rhymes to create something quite intricate.
