Big Shug featuring Benefit and M-Dot “Heavy”

Big Shug, Benefit, and M-Dot came together to record a solid rap track “Heavy”. From the get-go M-Dot opens the track and drops some sick lines. Big Shug and Benefit bring it on their own creating quite the formidable force. The track can be found of M-Dot’s Layer Cake mixtape. For the video the trio take to the streets of East Boston. They don’t play to their own names or bragging about how much money they have. They are instead repping their home. It’s a couple of guys out on the corner doing what they do. No fancy cars, or hoochie women. It’s hip-hop at its core.

Fatboy Slim & Riva Starr “Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat (Calvin Harris Remix)”

Fatboy Slim and Riva Starr teamed up for a song “Eat, Sleep, Rave Repeat” that got a bit of the Calvin Harris treatment. For the video it was decided that 250 contestants would battle it out in a nonstop endurance dance-off. The prize £500. Eat your heart out crossfitters. This was so intense one contestant cracked his head open. And when the dancers started dropping it the medics were called in. Eventually a winner is named, and as one commenter on the YouTube page wrote, “Legend has it the winner is still dancing to this day…”

Calvin Harris & Alesso featuring Hurts “Under Control”

A new single “Under Control” has emerged from the collaborative efforts of Calvin Harris, Alesso, and Hurts. This Voltron-like coming together creates a mini EDM super group that is sure to impress all. Though it may be one song it is worth it, and may lead to other collaborations in the future. The video features a world ending meteor event. It’s the kind of thing the young and attractive people in the video care little for. After all, the modern day “Carpe Diem” is “Y.O.L.O.” Just ask Drake. We never do get to see what happens upon impact, but we do see some sweet partying. Or maybe this is a typical Calvin Harris, Alesso, Hurts weekend. I will surely never know.

Arctic Monkeys “One for the Road”

Arctic Monkeys have a new album out called AM. Their latest single is “One for the Road”. The video features the band out on the farm. They are dressed up in some snazzy suits, but that doesn’t mean they can’t drive a tractor or other great farm equipment. Let’s just say they make good use of the monster machines before closing the evening with a sweet performance accompanied by fireworks. This is exactly what I picture a day on the farm being like for Arctic Monkeys.

Sir Sly “Gold

Sir Sly have recently released an EP called Gold. The title track is their latest single and features an interesting video. In it our hero wakes up on the ground and looks up at a window that is open in an abandoned house. As he enters looking for someone, he slowly finds himself being chased by someone. The actuality of what is going on is actually quite interesting. I won’t ruin the surprise for you. See if you can figure out what is going on.
