Nomadic singer/songwriter, W.C. Beck will release his new LP, Facecomber on October 25th. Surviving the Golden Age is excited to premiere the album’s titular track.
Starting as a stripped down acoustic ballad, “Facecomber” sounds like something a lonesome cowboy would sing around a campfire. Slowly layers of other instruments are added like a flourish of steel guitar, warm vintage organ, and esoteric percussion. Full drums are never added, so the track maintains a sparser feel while still being interesting. It shows a musician who is not only tuned in on his songwriting but also deeply invested in his arrangements.
