We Are The Willows “Saturday”

Minneapolis-based, We Are The Willows released their record, IV at the end of August. “Saturday” is the recent single from the LP. The only lyrics are “hope you know and went away/hope again another day/hope you know and went away/hope again on Saturday” repeated ad nauseam but the structure is the star of the song. With each repeat of the lyrics, more instruments are added until there is a baroque pop crescendo. Then the instruments die out to reveal the repeating mantra one last time before the song ends. It is an interesting listen; short and catchy enough that it can be looped and enjoyed multiple times.
